Volleyball Recap: Green Valley Gators vs. Coronado Cougars
Green Valley faced Coronado in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Gators took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. The Gators have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 22-25, 25-13, 25-14.
Zechariah Nissley paced Green Valley's offense, picking up 12 kills. Nissley got some help from Jeremiah Nissley and his 27 assists. Jeremiah was also a major player on defense: he and Preston Whiting shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with two each.
