Robertson took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 56-20 victory over the Socorro Warriors. With the Cardinals ahead 28-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.

A big part of the win came down to the chemistry between Jesse James Gonzalez and his top target George Smith. Gonzalez rushed for 124 yards on only 11 carries while Smith gained 196 total yards and two touchdowns. Smith's longest rush was for an impressive 54 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Leandro Padilla also helped with two touchdowns in total.

Robertson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Smith and Gonzalez.

Despite the loss, Socorro still got an impressive performance from Jay Lee, who picked up 118 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Robertson will head out to square off against Cobre at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Socorro, they will face off against Thoreau at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
