Football Recap: Hopewell's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three + How To Watch

After losing to Freeport the last time they met, Hopewell decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Vikings strolled past the Yellowjackets with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 41-26. The Vikings pushed the score to 35-13 by the end of the third, a deficit the Yellowjackets cut but never quite recovered from.

Hopewell found their leader in sophomore Nasir Wade, who rushed for 182 yards and a pair of scores on only ten carries. Those 182 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Wade. Hopewell also got help from Tre Cameron, who showed off his sure hands for 119 receiving yards.

The victory (which was Hopewell's third in a row) raised their record to 6-2. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.7 points on average over those games. As for Freeport, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hopewell will welcome Central Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Freeport, they will be playing at home against East Allegheny at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
