Volleyball Recap: Wilson Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Wilson had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They blew past the Manning Monarchs 3-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Wilson took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-14, 25-13.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wilson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lincoln Emert, who had seven aces and four digs. Another player making a difference was Elijah Barber, who had 14 digs.

They weren't the only good servers: Wilson was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Wilson's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Manning, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Wilson will face off against Orangeburg-Wilkinson at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Manning will be paying especially close attention to the Tigers' matchup: after the Tigers face off against the Bruins, they'll take on Manning again at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
