Baseball Recap: Exeter-West Greenwich Wins Going Away Against Classical

Exeter-West Greenwich barely beat Classical the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Scarlet Knights put the hurt on the Purple with a sharp 14-1 win on Monday. Considering the Scarlet Knights have won three games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Tyler Mediros made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Mediros was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.

In other batting news, Dawson Sweet and Dylan Main did most of the damage at the plate: Sweet went 2-for-3 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Main got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave Sweet a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ethan Koczwanski, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs.

Exeter-West Greenwich always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory got Exeter-West Greenwich back to even at 3-3. As for Classical, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
