Soccer Game Preview: West Florence vs. Blythewood

West Florence hasn't had much luck against Blythewood recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The West Florence Knights will look to defend their home pitch against the Blythewood Bengals at 7:30 p.m. West Florence is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.

On Wednesday, everything went West Florence's way against Dutch Fork as West Florence made off with a 4-1 win. Considering the Knights have won six matches by more than two goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Blythewood kept a clean sheet against Lugoff-Elgin on Tuesday. They blew past the Demons 6-0. The victory continues a trend for the Bengals in their matchups with the Demons: they've now won nine in a row.

Blythewood's offense was hitting Lugoff-Elgin from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Regan Flynn led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

West Florence's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 32 goals over those five contests. As for Blythewood, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1-1.

West Florence might still be hurting after the 4-1 loss they got from Blythewood in their previous meeting back in March of 2019. Can West Florence avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
