Baseball Recap: St. Joseph Victorious

St. Joseph won the last time they faced St. Thomas Aquinas and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Falcons came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 6-1.

Domenic Erbafina looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, JP Zayle and Logan Ring did most of the damage at the plate: Zayle went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double, while Ring went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Zayle has become a key player for St. Joseph: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-5 otherwise.

St. Joseph has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-4.

Looking ahead, St. Joseph will square off against Edison at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, they will challenge East Brunswick at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
