Basketball Recap: Eastern Alamance Takes a Loss

If Eastern Alamance was riding high fresh off their 55-11 takedown of Southern Alamance last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eastern Alamance Eagles received a blow on Tuesday as they fell 54-36 to the Orange Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 64-63 loss last Friday.

Orange's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evelyn George, who went 8-for-17 to rack up 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. George is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 47% in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Addison Atkins, who went 6-for-11 on her way to 16 points and seven boards.

Eastern Alamance's loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Orange, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 17-8.

As of now, neither Eastern Alamance nor Orange have any future games scheduled.
