Baseball Recap: Yoakum Triumphs

Yoakum's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over the Industrial Cobras. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 8-7 victory the Cobras walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Owen Blanco looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Yoakum is 2-0-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 4-6 otherwise.

Yoakum's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-6-1. As for Industrial, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-3.

Yoakum will have a chance to go back-to-back against Industrial: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
