Baseball Game Preview: University Trojans vs. Sage Hill Lightning

For the second straight game, University will face off against Sage Hill. The Trojans will head out to square off against the Lightning at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. University's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Sage Hill's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Wednesday, University needed a bit of extra time to put away Sage Hill. They had just enough and edged out the Lightning 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted against the Lightning since February 28, 2015.

University got a great performance from Jameson LoBianco as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over seven innings pitched. LoBianco has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, University saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sean Maher, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

University pushed their record up to 10-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Sage Hill, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
