Baseball Recap: Thomasville Comes Up Short

West Davidson hit Thomasville with a four-run first inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bulldogs took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dragons. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 6-2 to the Dragons when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Travail Barnes was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He has become a key player for Thomasville: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 3-4 otherwise. Mykel Duncan was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

This is the second loss in a row for Thomasville and nudges their season record down to 5-5. As for West Davidson, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-6 record.
