Basketball Recap: American Fork Comes Up Short

American Fork was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. The game between them and the Lone Peak Knights didn't end well, with the American Fork Cavemen falling 59-41. While losing is never fun, the Cavemen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the Knights are ranked 15th).

Kennedy Woolston was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double with 20 points and nine rebounds for Lone Peak. What's more, Woolston also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lave Holdcraft, who went 5-for-6 to rack up 12 points and seven boards.

American Fork's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Lone Peak, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

American Fork has already played their next contest (against Westlake), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Lone Peak, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 55-42 victory against Lehi on the 11th.
