Baseball Game Preview: Pinecrest Academy Cadence Cougars vs. Valley Vikings

For the second straight game, Pinecrest Academy Cadence will face off against Valley. The Cougars will be playing at home against the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pinecrest Academy Cadence is on a five-game streak of home losses, and Valley a 12-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck.

Having struggled with 15 losses in a row, Pinecrest Academy Cadence turned things around against Valley on Monday. They put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 19-1 win. The Cougars' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Ambrose Serna made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run.
