Baseball Recap: Union Comes Up Short

Union dropped their record down to 19-6 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Grantsville Cowboys by a score of 8-7. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cowboys earlier this season, when they won 5-2.

As for Grantsville, the victory got them back to even at 11-11. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

For Grantsville's part, Jordan Fawson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Fawson is becoming a predictor of the Cowboys' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 6-10 when he doesn't). Patton Rose was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

As of now, neither Union nor Grantsville have any future games scheduled.
