Softball Recap: Cranston West Comes Up Short

After flying high against Ponaganset on Monday, Cranston West came back down to earth. The Falcons fell just short of the Prout Crusaders by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in June of 2024.

Cranston West saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Iannelli, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Cranston West's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Prout, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Cranston West will take on rival East Providence at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Prout is set to challenge their familiar foe Pilgrim at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
