Basketball Game Preview: Calvary Christian Academy Knights vs. Flanagan/Woodland Falcons

The Calvary Christian Academy Knights will face off against the Flanagan/Woodland Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Calvary Christian Academy will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Calvary Christian Academy's tournament run continued when they took on Riverton on Friday. The Knights enjoyed a cozy 48-31 victory over the Hawks.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Flanagan/Woodland). They blew past Peoria Christian 60-34 on Tuesday. The Falcons not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 10th (when they won 60-17).

Calvary Christian Academy better keep an eye on Emma Palaschak. She was instrumental in Flanagan/Woodland's win, shooting 44% from the field to rack up 34 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Palaschak has scored at least a third of the Falcons' points. Another player making a difference was Kora Edens, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 12 boards.

Flanagan/Woodland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Flanagan/Woodland's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Calvary Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.

Calvary Christian Academy couldn't quite get it done against Flanagan/Woodland when the teams last played back in February as they fell 50-43. Thankfully for the Knights, Ella Derossett (who went 7-for-17 en route to 22 points along with six rebounds and five steals) won't be suiting up this time.
