Basketball Recap: Antietam Mountaineers vs. Oley Valley Lynx
The Antietam Mountaineers proved they can win big last Monday (they won by 25) but on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 49-47 victory over Oley Valley. The victory was nothing new for Antietam as they're now sitting on three straight.
Antietam got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was AJ Schiefly out in front who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. Schiefly hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Shawn Raffety, who scored 17 points.
Antietam's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Oley Valley, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-4.
Antietam won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Halifax will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive. Oley Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
