Basketball Recap: Zamarah Rawls' Big Game Can't Quite Lead White Oak over Swansboro

White Oak lost against Swansboro back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The White Oak Vikings lost to the Swansboro Pirates on the road by a 38-19 margin. The match marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zamarah Rawls, who posted four points along with 12 boards and six blocks. Rawls has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 17 times she's played. Sidney Ferguson was another key player, putting up eight points.

Swansboro's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kendall Hackworth, who earned ten points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mattie Floyd, who scored five points and five boards.

White Oak's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Swansboro, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
