Volleyball Recap: Alamosa Wins Going Away Against Niwot

Alamosa lost to Niwot back in August of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Mean Moose put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Kyla Hawkins paced Alamosa's offense, picking up 11 kills. Hawkins got some help from Ashlyn Rice and her 31 assists. Rice was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Alamosa's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Niwot, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.

Alamosa wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Pueblo County on the 2nd. As for Niwot, they will challenge Cheyenne Mountain at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
