West Holt put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Battle Creek Braves as the West Holt Huskies made off with a 67-42 win. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Braves are ranked 125th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

West Holt's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lincoln Konrad led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. Konrad is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Rentschler, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 21 points and three steals.

West Holt smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.

West Holt's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Battle Creek, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Holt will head out to challenge Hartington-Newcastle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hartington-Newcastle has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Battle Creek, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Clarkson/Leigh at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2025.
