Basketball Recap: Kit Carson Takes a Loss

After flying high against South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] on Friday, Kit Carson came back down to earth. The Wildcats took a 48-33 bruising from the Hanover Hornets on Saturday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2025.

When it comes to explaining why Kit Carson lost, don't look at O'Shea Farmer. Despite the final result, he posted 11 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. Farmer has been hot recently, having also posted three or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Mason Marriott, who put up nine points and eight boards.

Kit Carson's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Hanover, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Kit Carson will challenge Nucla at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' defense better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 63.8 points per game this season. Hanover does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
