C.B. Aycock waltzed into their game on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They took down the Southern Wayne Saints 56-40. Given the Golden Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Saints are ranked 422nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead C.B. Aycock to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zakayla Sanders, who posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Burton, who scored 12 points.

Nevaeh Hines-Bass and Kymora Stokes certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Hines-Bass went 6-for-13 en route to 18 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals, while Stokes dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten boards. That's the most boards Stokes has posted since back in January.

C.B. Aycock pushed their record up to 18-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.3 points over those games. As for Southern Wayne, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.

Coming up, C.B. Aycock and West Johnston will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played. Southern Wayne does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
