Basketball Game Preview: Randleman Tigers vs. East Burke Cavaliers

The Randleman Tigers will square off against the East Burke Cavaliers on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Randleman is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They took down Providence Grove 55-36.

Meanwhile, East Burke had already won 15 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 41.1 points) and they went ahead and made it 16 on Tuesday. They breezed past the Dragons to the tune of 69-29. The Cavaliers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 contests by 27 points or more this season.

Randleman better focus on containing Braelyn Stilwell and Kara Brinkley as the pair were huge in East Burke's win. Stilwell shot 4-for-6 from downtown and dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten steals, while Brinkley en route to 20 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Stilwell's big performance that evening made it ten games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Journi McDowell, who posted seven points.

East Burke pushed their record up to 27-1 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.4 points over those games. As for Randleman, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season.

Randleman came up short against East Burke in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 49-42. Can Randleman avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
