Volleyball Recap: Cleburne Comes Up Short

Cleburne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Centennial Spartans, falling 3-0. The Yellowjackets were not able to make up for their loss to the Spartans from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-23, 25-11, 25-22.

Arrisa Turner paced Cleburne's offense, picking up ten kills. Turner got some help from Jaci Thompson and her four assists. Finally, Ella Gee kept Cleburne's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Cleburne's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Centennial, their win bumped their record up to 21-9.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Cleburne is set to square off against their familiar foe Joshua at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Centennial will take on rival Mansfield Summit at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
