Soccer Game Preview: Hunterdon Central vs. Pennington

The Hunterdon Central Red Devils will challenge the Pennington Red Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hunterdon Central's last four contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Hunterdon Central's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Shawnee 1-0. That's two games straight that Hunterdon Central have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Pennington entered their tilt with Blair Academy on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Bucs with a sharp 7-0 win. The result was nothing new for Pennington, who have now won five matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Pennington's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Hunterdon Central, their win bumped their record up to 6-1-2.

Hunterdon Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Pennington in their previous matchup back in September of 2019, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Red Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Hawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
