Baseball Recap: Myrtle Point Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Myrtle Point entered their tilt with Eddyville on Friday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Eagles 22-1. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Sawyer Jackson made a big impact no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Myrtle Point got a massive performance out of Skyler Zick, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Those four runs gave Zick a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lane Backman, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.

Myrtle Point was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Myrtle Point's record is now 10-2. As for Eddyville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.
