Baseball Game Preview: Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs vs. Indio Rajahs

Coachella Valley is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Monday. They will be playing at home against the Indio Rajahs at 3:00 p.m. Coachella Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Indio's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Last Friday, Coachella Valley came up short against Central and fell 9-5.

Angel Diaz led a balanced group of hitters, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. Vince Ponce was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Indio's offense. They lost 18-0 to Hesperia on Saturday. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Rajahs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Indio saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jose Rodriguez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Rodriguez is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.

Coachella Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Indio, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.

Coachella Valley was able to grind out a solid win over Indio in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 7-4. Will Coachella Valley repeat their success, or does Indio has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
