Recap: Heritage Patriots vs. Southern Wells Raiders
The Heritage Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 11th straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 36-35 to Southern Wells. Heritage was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Southern Wells apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Grace Guenthner, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Danica Fuller, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Heritage bumped their record down to 1-16 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.0 points per game. As for Southern Wells, their win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-13.
Heritage will take on Bluffton at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Bluffton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Thursday. As for Southern Wells, they will head out on the road to square off against Southwood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
