Soccer Game Preview: Marian vs. Rochester

The Marian Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Rochester Falcons at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Marian's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Divine Child by a score of 2-0. Given Marian's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Divine Child are ranked 71st) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Rochester put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their undefeated season alive. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against Stoney Creek. Give Rochester's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Marian has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That lines up perfectly with their 12-2-1 record this season. As for Rochester, their win bumped their record up to 11-0-3.
