Recap: Fairview Knights vs. Rocky Mountain Lobos
The Fairview Knights pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 68-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rocky Mountain. Fairview has struggled against Rocky Mountain recently, as their contest on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Fairview still got an impressive performance from Bella Chang, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Chang is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Remy Tolar, who scored five points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Leading Rocky Mountain to victory were Sara Chicco and Meela Delap. Chicco scored 19 points along with seven steals, while Delap dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Delap has scored all season. Ali Warner was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Fairview's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-6. As for Rocky Mountain, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
Fairview will head out on the road to challenge Poudre at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Poudre focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Saturday. Rocky Mountain won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Mullen at 1:00 p.m. on January 13th. Mullen is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.4 points per game.
