Payne Tech never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Caldwell Chiefs with a sharp 14-0 win. Considering the Lions have won eight contests by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Leidy Soto Leyba made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
