Softball Game Preview: Rigby Trojans vs. Pocatello Thunder

The Rigby Trojans will head out to challenge the Pocatello Thunder at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Rigby has given up an average of 8.6 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Rigby is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They lost 14-3 to Thunder Ridge.

Rigby saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Samantha Bishop, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Pocatello got the win against Hillcrest on Monday by a conclusive 14-1. The win continues a trend for the Thunder in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won seven in a row.

Jakobi Nebeker was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Azlin Bullock, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Rigby now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Pocatello, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.

Rigby couldn't quite finish off Pocatello in their previous meeting back in April of 2023 and fell 8-6. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
