Baseball Recap: Overton Comes Up Short

Overton came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 13-5 to the Memphis Central Warriors. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Julian Tallent was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

With the loss, Overton broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-4-1. As for Memphis Central, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

Looking ahead, Overton will be playing in front of their home fans against Kingsbury at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Memphis Central, they will venture away from home to square off against Memphis East at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.75 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
