Baseball Recap: Compton Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Compton's offense. They fell 5-0 to the Woodrow Wilson Bruins on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 back in March.

This is the second loss in a row for Compton and nudges their season record down to 13-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 14-5 Millikan (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 66.4% over those games). As for Woodrow Wilson, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-9.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Compton will face off against rival Cabrillo at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Woodrow Wilson is set to take on their familiar foe Millikan at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bruins 3.3, the Rams 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
