Baseball Recap: Lincoln Comes Up Short

Lincoln extended their losing streak to eight on Friday, dropping their season record down to 3-11 in the process. They lost 13-3 to the Eagle Rock Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-0 on Wednesday.

As for Eagle Rock, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-11. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Eagle Rock's part, Jet Eells and Jaden Jimenez did most of the damage at the plate: Eells went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double, while Jimenez went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Jimenez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Encarnacion, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln will head out to take on Wilson at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mules will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Eagle Rock, they will head out on the road to face off against Bravo at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games the Knights have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
