Basketball Recap: Jayce Cora's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Community School of Naples over Neumann

Community School of Naples and Neumann squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Community School of Naples had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Neumann Celtics by a score of 49-47. The Seahawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Celtics earlier this season, when they won 51-33.

Community School of Naples' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayce Cora, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. That's the most points Cora has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brennan Ringhofer, who went 6 for 13 en route to 14 points and five assists.

Even though they lost, Community School of Naples smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Community School of Naples' loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-12. As for Neumann, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-12.

Community School of Naples does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Neumann, they will square off against First Baptist Academy on Friday.
