Baseball Recap: Desert Mountain Takes a Loss

Desert Mountain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Arizona College Prep Knights.

Cole Sonne was cooking despite his team's loss, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 4-for-4. Nick Benson also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Desert Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Arizona College Prep, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-7.

While Desert Mountain had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
