Soccer Game Preview: Righetti vs. Pioneer Valley

The Righetti Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Pioneer Valley Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Righetti comes in on three and Pioneer Valley on four.

Righetti will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating San Luis Obispo, who they had gone 1-7-1 against in their nine prior meetings. Righetti never let San Luis Obispo onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Friday. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by exactly two goals.

Nery Saguilan and Andres Gonzales scored both of Righetti's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 19 goals.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Pioneer Valley made sure to put some goals up on the board against Santa Maria on Friday. They put the hurt on the Saints with a sharp 4-0 win. Give the Panthers' defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Pioneer Valley is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 35 goals over those nine games. As for Righetti, their victory bumped their record up to 13-1-3.

Righetti came out on top in a nail-biter against Pioneer Valley in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Will Righetti repeat their success, or does Pioneer Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
