Softball Game Preview: Swanton Bulldogs vs. Wauseon Indians

The Swanton Bulldogs will square off against the Wauseon Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Swanton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

Swanton fell victim to Bryan and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Bears. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Golden Bears: they've now lost five in a row.

Beyla Remer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Swanton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cara Ludlow, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Wauseon had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over Delta on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Indians have posted since April 19, 2024.

Swanton's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Wauseon, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.
