Monroe gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Lee County Trojans by a score of 58-49. This was payback for the Golden Tornadoes, who suffered a 57-54 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Leading Monroe to victory were Brayden Burns and Robert Adams. Burns almost dropped a double-double with 30 points and nine boards, while Adams dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Elijah Rivers, who posted four points.

Looking ahead, Monroe will challenge Westover at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lee County, they will square off against Dougherty at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
