Basketball Recap: New Prairie's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

New Prairie won the last time they faced Oregon-Davis, and Brody Wiginton did his part to make sure it happened again. The New Prairie Cougars were the clear victor by a 57-32 margin over the Oregon-Davis Bobcats on Friday thanks in part to Wiginton, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 25 points and seven rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of New Prairie's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Fronk, who posted eight points. Those eight points gave him a new career-high.

The win snapped New Prairie's losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 3-10 record. As for Oregon-Davis, they are on a 25-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the New Prairie Cougars face off against the South Bend Riley Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Oregon-Davis, they will face off against Knox at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Oregon-Davis is facing Knox at the right time seeing as Knox is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
