Football Recap: Silver Valley Takes a Loss

There was early excitement for Silver Valley after they claimed the first score on Monday, but it was California City who ended up claiming the real prize. The Trojans came up short against the Ravens, falling 26-6. The defeat leaves the Trojans still looking for their first win of the season.

California City's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kevin Hightower led the charge by rushing for 88 yards and one score. Newton Avilez was in the mix as well, providing the Ravens with one touchdown.

Silver Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for California City, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Silver Valley has already played their next contest, a 41-6 defeat against Western Christian on the 27th. As for California City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 35-0 loss against Yosemite on the 26th.
