Baseball Game Preview: Monte Vista Pirates vs. Peyton Panthers

Monte Vista heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Friday. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Forge Christian. The Pirates' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Peyton fell victim to Highland and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Huskies. That makes it the first time this season the Panthers have let down their home crowd.

Bryce Love was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Peyton's loss dropped their record down to 20-2. As for Monte Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-7.
