Basketball Recap: Newton Comes Up Short

Newton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 73-13 defeat at the hands of the Central Heights Blue Devils. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Newton's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Central Heights, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a massive bump to their 15-15 record this season.

Newton will welcome Diboll at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. As for Central Heights, they will venture away from home to face off against Pollok Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Pollok Central comes in on four and Central Heights on eight.
