Volleyball Game Preview: Mountain View Spartans vs. Los Gatos Wildcats

Mountain View is 2-8 against Los Gatos since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Spartans are taking a road trip to face off against the Wildcats at 6:45 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Mountain View came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Monta Vista, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Spartans have suffered since October 9th.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-12, 25-14.

Meanwhile, Los Gatos came up short against Los Altos on Thursday and fell 3-1.

While Los Gatos ultimately came up short, they really made Los Altos work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-18, 21-25, 25-17.

Los Gatos' loss dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Mountain View, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-14.

Mountain View couldn't quite get it done against Los Gatos in their previous meeting back in September as they fell 3-1. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
