Baseball Recap: Canyon View Wins Going Away Against Coconino

It was a proper cat-fight when Canyon View took on Coconino on Friday. The Canyon View Jaguars were the clear victor by a 7-1 margin over the Coconino Panthers.

Canyon View got a great performance from Collin Padget as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, Padget posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ricardo Yuriar, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Canyon View now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Coconino, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Canyon View will face off against Sunrise Mountain at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Coconino, they will take on Paradise Honors at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
