The Roanoke Rapids Yellowjackets will venture away from home to challenge the Martin County Gators at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Roanoke Rapids is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11 runs per game this season.

Roanoke Rapids is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Rocky Mount just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Gryphons by a score of 8-7. The game marked the Yellowjackets' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Collin Elias made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Carson Duncan, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Martin County put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 16-2 margin over Beddingfield. Fans of the Gators have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Martin County's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0. As for Roanoke Rapids, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.
