Soccer Game Preview: Sweeny vs. La Marque

The Sweeny Bulldogs will look to take advantage of their home pitch for the first time this season as they take on the La Marque Cougars at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Sweeny came up short against Stafford on Thursday, falling 6-2. Sweeny were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 3-0.

Meanwhile, La Marque was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 8-2 to Columbia.

Alexis Vazquez and Santiago Granados scored both of La Marque's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Sweeny's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for La Marque, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Everything went Sweeny's way against La Marque in their previous matchup back in February of 2025, as Sweeny made off with a 4-0 victory. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
