Softball Preview: Dwyer Panthers vs. Jupiter Warriors

The Dwyer Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Jupiter Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dwyer is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.

Dwyer is headed into the match fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Cardinal Newman 13-6. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Dwyer considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Kylie Guthrie made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off ten hits. Guthrie was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Dwyer let Kayla Sejnoha and Sierra Cook loose on the outfield. Sejnoha fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-4, while Cook scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Dover, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

Meanwhile, Jupiter fell victim to Centennial and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The game marked the first time this year in which Jupiter was not able to get on the board.

Dwyer's victory bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Jupiter, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-5.
