Football Recap: Canyon Comanches vs. Troy Warriors

Canyon fell victim to Troy and their airtight defense on Thursday. They were beaten by the Warriors 37-0. While losing is never fun, the Comanches can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 406th, while the Warriors are ranked 149th).

Alexander Lundsberg threw for 232 yards on 22 of 34 attempts. Noah McClary was his top target, picking up 184 receiving yards.

Ethan Mundt had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 153 yards and two TDs on only 14 carries for Troy. Mundt's longest rush was for an impressive 55 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Jackson Hintz helped out on the ground, rushing for 85 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Canyon's defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-6. Those home losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.7 points over those games. As for Troy, their record now sits at 7-1.
